Summer is just around the corner & whether its a trip to a sunnier climate or an ever popular stay-cation; everyone likes to feel a little better about themselves heading into the many people’s favourite season of the year.
Getting yourself geared up & prepared for the Summer months means you can really enjoy them to the fullest. Here are 5 tips to get you in the prime position for making the most of your summer:
1) Eat Healthy
Seems obvious but eating healthy goes such a long way. The clue is in the name but a healthy diet plays a huge part in a healthy life. You want clear skin, and maybe even want to lose a couple of pounds; which will come with a clean diet, but it’s just as advantageous for your inside as it is your outside.
Per NHS Inform, eating well can help with lower the risk of heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes and assist with strong bones & teeth.
2) Start Exercising & Train Regularly
Start exercising now to get into shape and be ready to enjoy the outdoors. Take up running, swimming, biking, or any other physical activities that you enjoy. Now, we aren’t saying go out and run a marathon 5 times a week; even just a simple walk one evening a week instead of sitting, binging on the newest Netflix series.
And as much as you might be aching at the time, the endorphin release that follows the workout makes you feel a million dollars and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive changes to your body as you get closer to achieving your goals, toning up, losing weight, whatever it is!
But train smarter, not longer.
3) Listen To Your Body
This ties in very nicely with our aforementioned training regular tip. Yes your body needs physical exercise in order to achieve that ‘idyllic summer body’ many people look to attain, but your body also needs time to recover.
If you’re going to go hell for leather on your training, you’re likely going to do more damage to yourself than good. Your body needs time to recover and it will be clear when it does. Nobody wants to be fatigued all of the time. Of course, aching after training is a given but dreading a workout,
4. Plan A Holiday
Start planning your summer holiday now by researching destinations, booking flights, and choosing hotels. This will give you something to look forward to and help you make the most of your summer.
Of course, you don’t need to go abroad to enjoy yourself. ‘Staycations’ are becoming increasingly more popular, with many opting to stay in their own country & get better value for money.
Time away from your hectic day to day life, work stress is needed; Make sure you take it! Even just a long weekend away can be massively beneficial to your mental health, physical health & all round well being. Come back with a fresh outlook & recharged!
5) Get Outdoors & Live For Now!
The sun is out so get outdoors! Whether it be traveling, family day trips or getting out in nature making the most of your free time with friends and family will ensure you’ll get the most out of your Summer.
You never know what is around the corner & you cant control the future so focusing on pleasure in the moment is so important. Being outdoors can help reduce the feelings of stress, help improve physical well-being, improve self esteem & just generally make you feel better about yourself!
